#remoteVR on IGEL OS 11 and UD7

Everyone that has been testing #remoteVR on IGEL OS 11, and/or IGEL UD7 with IGEL OS 10 has had some issues getting the #remoteVR setup working well. On IGEL OS 11, there has been graphics glitches, mainly green lines across the screen and session freezes. On IGEL OS 10 and the IGEL UD7 it has worked, but from time to time you would have seen the occasional but constant gray screen in your HMD (Head Mounted Display, aka HTC Vive headset). This has just changed for the better!

A few weeks ago, IGEL released a firmware called 11.03.100. This one includes a fix for the green lines and session freezes. The root cause was actually the number of reference frames sent by the back-end VDA.
When i started testing this new firmware i did it on the IGEL UD7 device, and i was very amazed that the gray screen blinking in the HMD is now gone.
This means, the IGEL Dev team has figured out how to get the vdpau h264 decoder to work well, even better, than previously using the built in codecs from #fluendo instead of utilizing ffmpeg that originally was used by the vdpau decoder.

To summarize it all: Now you can have the IGEL UD7 hardware, without any modifications to the IGEL OS, no custom partitions of vdpau+ffmpeg needed. Just configure the device to use vdpau and you are good to go.
