Accelerated Graphics on brand new IGEL UD2 LX50 – can it be done?!

By Fredrik Brattstig @virtualbrat

The 14th of May -19 IGEL will release their first Software Defined Endpoint with the new face lift casing and reduction i size. This is a very welcome evolution. The new UD2 LX50 will be about 1/3 less in volume that the current UD2 LX40. Hardware specs are that IGEL added one extra USB port so now the UD2 has 5 ports, plus the CPU has been changed from a single core CPU to a QuadCore CPU. This allows for a device that can handle a bit more advanced tasks in comparison to the previous single core version.
Powered by IGEL OS 11 this is a perfect match!

As I just received my test sample, and started digging into what i love the most – Advanced Graphics!! I hooked it up to a Citrix backend – yea, the race driving VDA that IGEL had on show Citrix Synergy -18. The outcome is impressive. Using a FullHD session i can without any performance issues use the UD2LX50 for the race driving demo.

Take a look at the teaser below! If you are attending Citrix Synergy in Atlanta in May, step by the IGEL Booth and take it for a test drive!

Best
