IGEL is just about to release a new User Interface update for the IGEL Azure Virtual Desktop App, the IGEL Windows 365 App and the IGEL RDP App. It includes a more enjoyable and soft login experience Lets take a look at this video first, where you will see the login sequence from the IGEL OS desktop, launching the session and get connected to Windows 11 in the cloud:

As seen in the video IGEL changed the User Experience for the login sequence. Adding the fade out/fade in effect makes it more pleasant to the user. A new feature was also implemented, that hides the Microsoft Entra login pages, which also enhances the user experience making it smoother. Eventually the login pages must be shown, if you for instance type the password wrong, or if MFA is needed. By default, the webpages will be hidden for 5 seconds, and will be shown if the sequence gets stuck and needs user interaction. Hiding the web pages and the timing is of course configurable, to suite your organizations needs!
The second part of the video shows the new experimental feature of Webcam redirection. From this version and onward, you can bring USB Web Cams to any application in your remote AVD, Windows 365, or RDP session! Very useful indeed!

Another thing added is a Battery and a Network info icon to the Session toolbar, the login, and to the resource picker screen. This is very helpful for the user, as while in session, the tray apps is not accessible, here is a screenshot.

Hovering over the Battery Icon will give information about the battery level and if it is charging or discharging. Doing the same with the Network icon will show the connection strength if connected via WiFi, it will tell if a wired connection is enabled, or if a connection to network is missing.
Here is a closeup of the Session Toolbar – Battery 100% and connected to power and the WiFi signal strength:

That’s it for this short update, even though the new features are super important! Look out for the new version within the next days!
