IGEL has recently announced the General Availability of Microsoft EDGE in the IGEL App Portal. I’m getting lots of questions about Fido2, and if it works with Microsoft EDGE, to sort that out, here is what i did:
I TESTED IT!
Using my IGEL OS 12 with the OS version 12.5.1 and with Microsoft EDGE version 128.0.2739.79 installed and i use a YubiKey 5 series Nano (any 5 should work I suppose).
Here is the result of my test:
As we can see, the Fido2 authentication to EntraID works flawless with Microsoft EDGE on IGEL OS 12!
Really interesting that this Microsoft learn article say that Fido2 authentication using Microsoft EDGE on Linux is not supported. Would be nice to know why!?
